City Facts & Stats
Phoenix is the capital of, and largest city in the state of Arizona. Phoenix and its surrounding area is also one of the fastest growing regions in the United States, with a population that has grown by more than 37 percent in the last decade. The growth of this thriving city is due largely to its low cost of living, as well as its reasonable tax structure, low crime rate, and affordable housing, all of which provide an excellent quality of life, and make living and attending college in Phoenix both fun and affordable.

Phoenix is blessed with bright sunshine and fine weather year-round, and boasts 300 plus sunny days a year. Because Phoenix is blessed with such fine weather, it is a sports lover's paradise. There are over 300 golf courses in the Phoenix valley and the close proximity of mountains make for an easy escape when you're not studying. If you enjoy the outdoors, be sure to take advantage of the great hiking, fishing, boating, or biking. There are also professional sports teams in the area of Phoenix schools, including the 2001 World Champion Arizona Diamondbacks, the NBA Phoenix Suns, and the NFL Arizona Cardinals.

Arizona is a crossroad of culture and heritage where traditions of the Old West, and Mexican, and Native Americans cultures meet and combine into a culture that is unique to the state. There is a remarkable array of fine-art venues, colorful galleries and renowned museums, that can enhance your college experience, as well as good food and music that brings the culture to life and provides an exciting and unique place to live and go earn your degree.
